Question

Line segment angle settings

I am trying to draw lines at specific angles that correspond to azimuths on a map (e.g. 90° would be east and the angle rotates clockwise). Is there anyway to change the settings of the line segment tool so its angles matches this convention instead of the weird one it currently had (90° is north and angle rotates counterclockwise????).

Thanks!

    Nick,

I am afraid you are facing (some of the remaining parts of) the use of cartesian coordinates which are (or was) prevalent among vector drawing applications. When CS5 came out, the Y axis was reversed; before that it was positive upwards.

But maybe you can (repeatedly) rotate copies of the first line (with a negative angle, of course).

Some were sorry about the Y axis reversal, but we found ways to unreverse it so you can still work with the original direction.
