Question

Line starts late

Basically what’s happening is that when I put the pen down on my Wacom tablet it registers on Illustrator, and when I move the pen along to draw a line it takes a few millimeters of the page before the line starts from where I put the pen on the drawing pad. Is this supposed to happen? How can I turn it off? Should I turn it off? What’s it used for?

Thank you!

Hi there

Did you check the preferences of your Wacom?

Take a look the mapping preferences, and activate the check for Force proportions

I hope that helps

So the line is not where you draw it?

Or Illustrator is not responding?

Which tablet is it?

It’s the Intuos tablet. I‘m Certain it’s not a problem with lag because no matter how long I leave the pen in its initial position on the pad, there is always a slight delay between when I start moving the pen and the beginning of the line. And the delay is always the same distance.

The question remains: is this about calibration of that hardware or a lag caused by either the driver or Illustrator?
