Links Panel Broken

I updated Illustrator and now it labels all of my links as <clip group> <image>. WHY? How do we fix this? It is happening with my co-workers too and it has nothing to do with the cloud. I am working off of my desktop. I go to place a .pdf and this happens rather than leaving the link name.

I solved the issue. Apparently when I installed the latest version I needed to reset some preferences. When placing the link I had to check "Show Import Options", choose the link and select "Link" before placing it. I did this a few times and it corrected itself somehow.

Thank you for your response!

Hello @Dana37163074evrp,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Could you share more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator installed, a link to a sample file, and screenshots of the problem so I can check it with the team?

Also, try installing an earlier version of Illustrator (https://adobe.ly/484TBxn) and share your observations.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
