Live Corners not working after using Free Transform

Hi! I am trying to edit rounded rectangles, but after I use Free Transform to skew the shape then the live corners no longer appear in Direct Selection. My settings show that the live corners should still be active, and even disabling and reenabling them has not changed the issue. I also cannot find the Shape transformation tab, meaning I am not able to even round the corners without this live corner option, which is why this is such an issue. It is a real pain to have to set my corners before using the free transform tool at all...

Please help!
