Live mirror objects won’t select

Maybe my process is the problem - I draw with Apple Pencil on AI for iPad & then access via CC on iMac to fine tune & finish. I always have to change the stroke weight to very fine (.001) to laser cut - but new issue - won't select any objects that I drew with the live mirror function. Only working in one artboard. I can direct select and access the objects but still with the reflecting line even if I regroup. Sublayers aren't locked. Does anyone know - is there a workflow issue with live mirror between iPad and desktop versions?

So the whole object doesn't select? Is it locked?

Or do you want to access the copies generated by the repeat? In this case you need to expand.

I'm not sure if this should go in the Illustrator forum or the one for Illustrator on the iPad. I think you're asking about something that happens once it gets onto the iMac, so we'll try the Illustrator forum first and it can be moved again if necessary.

Please provide the Illustrator version numbers and the OS name/version for both the iMac and the iPad to aid in troubleshooting.

iMac OS Big Sur, Ilkustrator 2021.
iPad Pro version 14.6 (up to date) and Illustrator for iPad/CC suite also up to date/most current
