Live paint bucket tool adds extra anchor points

I use illustrator for drawing clothing illustrations/diagrams. I draw pen lines then use the live paint bucket tool to add all the fill areas needed. My steps are I use the paint bucket > object > expand > expand WITHOUT expanding stroke.

Lately I've noticd after using this, my original drawn lines have lots more anchor points added. They seem to be added where they touch another line. This is very annoying as it makes my drawing much harder to edit afterwards with too many anchor points. It's not done this before - how can I stop this?

Thank you

That is the way Live Paint works. When expanded you will get at least double the points (for the fill group and the stroke group) and it will add points at intersections.

But it only does that after expanding, when it is still a Live Paint group it will use the existing points.

So as long as you want to edit, don't expand.

I can't replicate your problem. Can you post a movie of what you are doing?
