Hi, so I just traced an image of a tiger I found online, but now I would like its body parts to be on their own layer. How can I do that with any image I trace?

    Expand the Image trace.

    Everything else depends on the nature of the generated paths. If there is one connected area, then the paths will be connected as well.

    Read the documentation about how to work with paths. You will need to ungroup, release compound paths, cut paths, select them, work with the layers panel and a couple more things. So the manual is your best starting point.
