Locally saved PNG files have become distorted, and no longer look like the original image saved

Hello Team,

I have a lot of saved PNG files of my logo. Each one varies slightly in color and style. Yesterday, I noticed some of them mysteriously became distorted and no longer look like the original image that I saved. See the example screenshots attached. One of the screenshots indicates that certain files within the folder appear normal, whereas others have altered in appearance, seemingly without any intervention.  Let me share some background to when I noticed this problem (maybe it has nothing to do with the issue I am experiencing). I was working with a few of these images earlier yesterday for a separate artboard project. I copied and pasted a few PNG files onto my other artboard project, then boom, I noticed that about half of my PNG images in this folder seem to have changed on their own without me opening and modifying them!

Can you tell me what happened here and how I can correct this problem?

I am having the same issue, and it occurred immediately after I upgraded Windows 11. All of my images that were saved using .png  in the saved file have totally disappeared. This involves years of my work. I need help immediately!!!

Hi there,

Thank you for reporting the issue with distorted PNG files. Would you mind checking this UserVoice and confirming if this is a similar issue you're experiencing?

If yes, please try the workaround suggested in the comments or check this post and let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Harshika
