Question

Locked and hidden sublayers automatically unlock and become visible after leaving isolation mode from Grid > Repeat

Link to screen recording of issues here (in video: MAP layers unlock and NEW PARKING layers unhide)

All the problems when Trying to make a parking lot with Repeat > Grid:

  1. Illustrator unlocks all locked sublayers on the same layer as the Repeat > Grid when I exit isolation mode from Repeat > grid
  2. Illustrator shows all hidden sublayers on the same layer as the Repeat > Grid when I exit isolation mode
  3. Illustrator leaves a diagonal stroke gap in Repeat > Grid for angled strokes
  4. Copy pasting the repeated artwork path in Repeat > Grid creates an invisible repeated path when it should be visible

Also, on a related but different note, when I try to extend the edges of the Grid > Repeat without scaling, it only works if I am zoomed in enough to see the long white rectangular handle on one side of the Grid > Repeat bounding box, which is inconvenient. It would be nice if there was a toggle option on a panel that you can check on or off to always extend without scaling.

  1. Extend without scaling only works if you are zoomed in enough to see the long white rectangular handle on one side of the bounding box.

I can reproduce point 1 and point 2 (exit isolation mode) in the latest versions of Illustrator. That's obviously a bug.

Not sure about point 3 and 4 as I haven't tested it thoroughly (or did not understand).

Also, your point about the repeat grid handles is valid. It should work at any zoom level, but it doesn't.
