Locked artwork moved while moving an artboard.

Question

So I have this [vertical] ad I've laid out. The ad being vertical has a horizontal [raster, linked] image as the background that extends beyond the edges of the artboard. I went to the artboard palette and duplicated the artboard and quickly realized my offset wasn't great enough to prevent overlap (of the background).

In the past versions (prior to CC2018) I would lock the artwork, and then I could move the secondary artboard without it moving the artwork; this time though, when I lock the artwork (the background) and move the adjacent artboard, the locked artwork moves with the artboard.

Does anyone else experience this issue?

Are you one of the devs? Why would moving locked artwork be expected?

Sorry for the short sounding post, I been trying to edit my post above this one, but I'm getting the weird scrolling bar animation and no option for editing. It seems a little short. After your post, which provided no links to verifiable proof, I see in the "features" page that it says for v22:

"Objects locked to an artboard now move with it."

Unfortunately locked objects can overlap multiple artboards. Ugh. You win some. You lose some.

Hi cpattersonv1​,while moving the artboard: be sure to uncheck this buttonOtherwise the artwork always will be moved with "its" artboard.Have fun
