Logo issues - ppt and offset path

I have a logo and i'm trying to get it into powerpoint as an editable vector file. I've used the method here - https://blog.elearningbrothers.com/blog/webinar-using-illustrator-create-powerpoint-assets

 

In ppt i can click the individual elements in the logo, so i ungroup. I get an error message saying "This is an imported picture, not a group, Are you sure..."

 

I ungroup it, and the logo becomes all wierd.

I also noticed that when in illustrator. I choose 'offset path', normally the logo gets 'thinner when you choose a minus number. But this logo gets bigger.

 

I don't know how the person designed the logo and also are there any solutions.

You have two programs with totally different complexities that are apples and fish away from each other.

Regardless, the issue with the black logo is that it's very complex and weird for no reason. My guess is it was created from a version that had gradients in it, with the attempt to convert it to Black, and not successfully. There is no need for gradient segments in it all; yet they are there: So each segment is a collection of black rectangles that is then clipped-masked to the shape of the segment. Unfortunately, I doubt PP has a way to support clipping masks, so they are being ignored, and all you're getting is the weird gradient blends "blocks".

Also: I think whoever did the logo at one point converted a PDF that was without Illustrator editing ability, which probably created the issues. The other telltale signs are the open paths. Usually objects that contain a fill/gradient are closed paths.

I can send you a quickly corrected logo, if you like.

    If you can. That would be great.

    I just need it so my client can change the colour themselves in powerpoint.

     

    Also, i can 'minus offset path' the logo pattern.
