Looking for some kind of response: Edit PDF from PP

so, yesterday I opened a pdf file illustrator made in power point and the logos in one of the pages converted to white. Today, same file was opened and the logos came up just fine. what would have caused an issue like this, even for a one off? Would it be the way it was opened up?

Please advise this is very confusing.

    That having been said, you cannot assume that you can fully, properly, and losslessly roundtrip a source document such as DOCX, XLSX, or PPTX to PDF and back. And you should assume that there are many aspects of the PDF file that cannot be fully edited as they would be edited in the source file application. The PDF edit function is really for limited “touch up” types of edits, not for extensive edits. You are most successful if you can go back to the source document, make changes there, and regenerate the PDF file; that is the safest workflow in the general case.

    yes, this is well understood. it's just a bit confusing when a file opens with parts missing one day and the next day the same file is opened with no issues. That's what I am working to understand, I figured it was a momentary glitch in either my pc system interacting with Adobe or the file size, at the moment with other large jobs and it just glitched.

    anyway, I sincerely appreciate the time you both took and answering to the post. much appreciation.

    By Installing Adobe Acrobat you will have the full compatibility of PDF Maker with MS Apps like PowerPoint to save PDF from PPT and Edit your PDF in Adobe Acrobat and to prevent problems that happen when open PDF files in Illustrator as Monika said.

    Hi Rostrda,

    Please see this thread for the response from Dov Isaacs on the limited conditions where you can edit a PDF with Illustrator and why you should not do so otherwise.

    Illustrator 22.1 has bugs, I re-installed the previous version

    Illustrator is not a general purpose PDF editor, you have to expect anything when opening PDFs that have been saved without Illustrator editing capabilities ( which applies to all PDFs saved from other applications )
