Lost a lot of progress on a logo, autosaved but crashed when Illustrator reopened

I was working on a logo, Illustrator crashed. After I reopened illustrator, there were recovered files. Illustrator then crashed again and I lost all my recovered files. Any help?

    Was the artwork ever saved to the computer's hard disc as an Illustrator file during the design process? Usually if or when Illustrator crashes the art file would at least have progress stored up to the last time the file was saved. Auto recovery operations work only so well.
