Mac OS X Sierra and Illustrator CC 2017 Issues

I have encountered some very annoying issues with Illustrator CC and OS X Sierra.

Here is the problem:

When I ran the Adobe Cloud suite on my brand new Imac with OS X El Capitan, it was running smoothly and beautifully.

I then upgraded the operating system to OS X Sierra. This is when the problems began.

Here are the issues:

- Tools get stuck while working. For example: If I am using the Brush tool, during my inking, it will get stuck on the Direct Selection tool for no reason, even though I didn't select it. If I try going back to another Tool, it wont let me.

- I am sometimes not able to select multiple objects at once while holding shift.

The temporary solution:

- Zooming in or out. It's almost as if it allows the program to refresh and fix itself.

This is very annoying, and started happening immediately after I upgraded to OS X Sierra. I highly recommend all Illustrator CC users not do upgrade to OS X Sierra unless these issues are resolved. I even contacted Adobe directly with an online chat representative and they could not figure out the issue either.

MAC OSX Sierra, latest and Adobe Illustrator latest.

I'm getting sick of uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator every time I use it.

    Hello,

After weeks of troubleshooting, I think I discovered the issue.
It's Wacom. Both Cintiqs and Tablets. Whenever I run into one of these issues while working (issues stated above), when I go to use my mac mouse, the issue disappears. I know Wacom has updated their drivers, but so far, this is the conclusion I came up with.

I still think Sierra OS is to blame as well, because it's causing problem in performance regardless, so hopefully they will get their **** together.

I have this issue with my Wacom... been driving me nuts not knowing why until I read this post.  You had any luck resolving the glitch?

    Hello

So far, what I did was I reverted back to El Capitan. I highly recommend this, especially if you are running an iMac. You're computer will run much faster.

As for the wacom issue itself, I am playing around with a driver. The driver is 6.3.15.3. You can download it here: http://cdn.wacom.com/u/productsupport/drivers/mac/professional/WacomTablet_6.3.15-3.dmg

So far so good with using a Wacom tablet with this driver, but I didnt fully get to test it out on a Cintiq yet. Try it out and let me know how it goes.

    reset your preferences -   http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html

    if that fails,

    uninstall everything cc, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

lastly uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud using compatibility mode (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb456979.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
