Mac Upgrade or Illustrator Bugs? Please Help.

Hi, I've been using Illustrator (all versions) since 2004. I've never encountered problems with clipping paths, but lately, either my objects show outside the path unless I zoom in and out, or my objects disappear inside the path entirely. This is costing me money in time I could be biulling clients.

Granted, these are complex files, but nothing even half as difficult as I have beenable to achieve EASILY in the past.

I have searched online and not found any similar threads with answers, rebuilt the files, reinstalled Illustrator, cleared space on my hardrive, done a defrag and upgraded my operating system and the App, however nothing is helping. If anything, it feels like Adobe in general is more sluggish, less responsive and has more bugs (it took nearly 20 mins to insert 2 pages into a PDF in Acrobat!).

My question is, if I upgrade from a 15" 2018 MacBook (16BG Ram, 256GB HD), will it help? Or is it the programs? And if I do need to upgrade, what do I need to last as long as possible?

Amy

Apparently I needed to switch to CPU preview instead of GPU. Thank you for suggesting the help link - they were amazing.

This rather looks like your graphic card is not compatible.

Defragmentation on a Mac is a thing of the path. You don't need it. WHen you do it, it will do more harm than good.

And talking about space on your harddrive: just how much i there? Harddrives are not expensive (as they used to be 30 years ago), so why is that even an issue?

16 GB of RAM is not a lot for complex files. Same goes for the 256 GB HD

You can contact Customer Care to have them check out your installation and take a look at the issue: https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
