Manually rotating any object causes spinning beachball and force restart

Hi All

Ive had this issue for a while when i manually rotate an object or piece of text that partway through the rotation the software freezes and i get the spinning beachball. The only way out is to force restart illustrator.

This can be something as simple as rotating a single digit of text or a simple rectangle. anything really.

It doesnt happen every single time but because its a roll of the dice as to wether it will happen im just using the rotate tool from the tool palette instead which works fine.

Any ideas on how to fix this would be much appreciated.

Also, try running Illustrator under Safe Mode (Windows / macOS) and a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and share your observations.
