Question

Menu closes when clicking on a sub item

I am really not sure if this is supposed to be that way or this is a bug. When I go to any menu (for example: Files) in Illustrator, and want to click on the sub menu (for example: Export) the entire menu closes. If I do not click on it, it expands, and I have to move the mouse over to the pop-up and click. I do not understand why when I click on a sub menu that the entire menu has to close. Is it supposed to be that way on Mac only? I can't get my head around this, because in Photoshop or wherever, I can click on the submenu without accidentally closing the entire menu.

THat's the way this works on a Mac. There is yet another sub menu below export. So you have to go all the way to the bottom most item (the one you want to use) and then click.

But how stupid is that? In Photoshop I can click, and in illustrator the menu closes when I click?  ^^

This is Mac menu behaviour back as long as I can remember, though Photoshop and Indesign seem to have 'fixed' it so that menus do not close on click. I agree the Illustrator team should probably do the same.
