Question

Menu text turns to glyphs in Illustrator 30.0 after login - has anyone experienced this?

Hi,
After a clean install of Illustrator, the menu text displays fine.

However, as soon as I log in to my Creative Cloud account, some menu items turn to glyphs instead of letters.

What I've tried so far:

Reinstalled Illustrator

Reset settings

Updated Creative Cloud

Logged in to a different CC account

Installed without importing old settings

Cleared font cache (Windows)

Screenshot below.

System: Windows 11 · Illustrator 2025 · Ukrainian interface

Hello @stabul,

Thank you for sharing the details and the screenshot. To better understand the situation, could you confirm whether you have recently applied any Windows updates and if the menu text started changing to glyphs right after? Additionally, it would help to know the exact system language you are using on Windows. In the meantime, please try renaming the CEP folder to CEP.old, which is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe, and see if Illustrator shows the menu text correctly. If there are no improvements, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe, then restart Illustrator.

If the issue continues, please let me know if you are using any third-party font managers. If that is the case, try to troubleshoot the problem by starting Windows in Safe Mode and testing Illustrator there. This will help us identify if an external factor is contributing to the issue. You might also want to check the behavior with a new local admin user profile to rule out any profile-specific problems. Ref: https://adobe.ly/4oP5Xim

If none of the above solutions work, please completely uninstall Creative Cloud Desktop App using the CC Cleaner tool, then reinstall it and test the issue again. Ref: https://adobe.ly/4oNrc49;
Once you have a chance to try these steps, please update me on the results, so I can assist further.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, @Abhishek Rao
Thank you for your answer,
No, there were no Windows updates before the problem occurred, (current version 26200.7171)
System language Ukrainian as stated above
I renamed the 2 mentioned folders, except for the UXP.old folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe, it is not there. And I rebooted, but unfortunately it did not help 😞
I do not use third-party font managers
Unfortunately, the same problem in the new local administrator profile
I have already reinstalled ss and as described above, the problem occurs immediately after logging into ss, or after the first restart of the program.
I have tried all the methods, and I am looking forward to the next tips.
