Hi

I am working on a reverse text on solid backgroud, like pictures

How I can merge them into single object

I tried:

- Compound path - failed

- Pathfinders merge - Failed

- Flattern - Failed

Any other way to merge them ?

Thanks

wk,

Given what you have according to your image, I believe you can simpy, based on the expanded Layer in the Layers palette (always keep a copy or the artwork you have before destroying it):

1) Select the topmost white Path, then Select>Same>Fill Color, then press Delete;

2) Select the topmost green Path, then Select>Same>Fill Color, then Ctrl/Cmd+8 to turn the green parts into the one Compound Path.

It ought to look right already after 1).

This a hopefully the way to do rather than to redo.

This is one way that you could do it.

Draw two concentric circles. The color of the inner circle doesn't matter, but it must be on top of the larger circle.

Select both circles and choose Pathfinder > Minus Front to delete the inner circle.

If the text is editable text, select it with the Selection tool and chooose Type > Create Outlines. With the text on top of the green ring, select both the outline text and the green ring and Pathfinder > Minus Front.

It looks like the text is in two pieces. If so, repeat for the second piece of text.

Hello.
I don't know what the result of your failure is, but in the meantime, why don't you make it no groups, and no compound paths.
And , select all shapes again, and create a compound path?
