Middle Mouse Button

I have been using the middle mouse button (scroll wheel) to click/hold and be able to pan throughout the workspace, for as long as I can remember (same function as holding the keyboard down and panning the workspace). I accidentally hit a combination of keys today which leads me to think I disabled something and now the middle button is no longer allowing me to pan throughout the canvas. I looked in settings and only see the zoom options, tried searching online and no helpful answers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I guess it's something with this mouse then. I tried switching with the mouse on my other Mac (same model Logi M317) and now it works fine with that mouse. When I pair the previous mouse back with this computer I again lose the ability to click/hold middle mouse button and pan the canvas in Illustrator.

There is not keyboard shortcut in Illustrator that changes the behaviour of the scrollwheel. Only the option in the Preferences changes its behaviour.

Maybe you have changed your mouse keys with system extensions?
