missing accented glyphs in illustrator only (appear in inDesign and photoshop)

Hi there,When pasting certain accented glyphs to illustrator, they seem get lost. Specifically:c̓ə́y̓I cannot even find them in the special glyphs window. I am using Noto font. I do not have this issue in InDesign or Photoshop... just Illustrator. I have tried turning on 'enable missing glyph protection' in the preferences. Any workarounds or troubleshooting would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind trying to enable the options for "Show Indic Options" and "Enable Missing Glyph Protection" under Type preferences and then pasting the Glyph in a Text Box with the Font set to Arial and checking if it helps?
