Question

Missing Fonts dialog while opening Illustrator file

I waited in the chat center for 20 minutes to be connected with Puneet. I had to describe my issue several times. I even went as far as to send him an Adobe video (Attached below) depicting exactly what I needed.

My issue: I am working on a project from our graphic designer. When I open the Illustrator file it says Missing Font, I hit find missing fonts and it only showed me the fonts on my page there could not be synced. The program offered no way of getting these "missing" fonts. I went to Adobe Fonts to try to find the fonts and nothing appeared, not one of the 12 plain fonts I was looking for. Then, I watch a video on missing fonts where a program called Typekit was supposed to pop up and connect me to the needed font or show me closely related fonts. This did not happen in my program despite having the Creative Cloud Suite. I contacted the help chat line where I chatted with Puneet and told him exactly what happened. 45 minutes later, nothing. Finally, after waiting for a simple answer, he had the nerve to say if the fonts show as missing then they are not on your computer. So I spent an hour of my morning only to get the most obvious reply to the situation. Obviously, if the pop-up window says "Missing Font" I assume my program is missing the font!

Adobe, please try to make getting answers a bit simpler and hire people who at least seem like they know what they are doing. It is ridiculous to pay this much for the suite when the programs won't run properly or update correctly (another issue). I do not think it is too much to ask that I get the services and help my company is paying for.

Which fonts are missing when you open the file?

Your graphic designer could have used the Package... option when saving the file.

But that would mean that you also need a license for these fonts.

No video was attached. Please name the fonts. Maybe they are not typekit fonts, there are millions of fonts and typekit only has a few thousand. If your designer chose to buy and use other fonts, you may also have to buy them.

I've moved this from the poorly named Community Help forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Get Started forum so that proper help can be offered.
