So here is my question. Why so many instances? Also; Illustrator likes to crash alot and before it is questioned it is not my PC as I have looked that issue up before posting here. I would like to use adobe products more but they seem very unstable.

Hello @Stollfacekilla, sorry to hear about the crashing. I would request you try the steps shared in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/fix-crash-on-launch-issues.html) and share your observations.

Having multiple instances of Illustrator in the background is actually normal behavior. Some apps are developed to run in multiple instances (for running background processes/multiple windows), while others are limited to only one window by design.

Please update this thread if the issue persists or if you need further assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks,

Anubhav
