Mutiple Users are having issues with Read-write permissions with illustrator

I am having issues with Read-write permissons with Illustrator on Mac, I have followed this guide Preferences folder read-only error | Permissions issue (adobe.com), however the problem is that we have mutiple Macs with mutiple users signing in to those Macs via Active Directory. I was wondering if there is a solution to fix the permissions system wide instead of going in to each users folder and doing it manually.

Hello @Peter368541509ts1,

Thanks for reaching out. Illustrator supports working across networks, removable media, and cloud-synced folders (Google Drive / Dropbox / OneDrive, etc.) and is vigorously tested across multiple configurations. However, not all configurations, including different software, hardware, settings, and access rights, have been tested. Therefore, your configuration can cause errors, crashes, or unexpected behavior. You may learn more about this here: (https://adobe.ly/4gmQTVp).

To avoid such problems, we recommend working on your files from a local directory, like the Desktop, and manually copying them to the removable media, network drive, cloud-synced folder, or using Cloud Documents.

Feel free to reach out if you have more questions or need assistance. We'd be happy to help.

Thanks,
Anubhav

Hello @Peter368541509ts1,

Sorry for the confusion. It seems this is a problem with file permissions (Group Policy), which your IT admins must enable for all Users. The folders are listed in the HelpX article. Would you mind trying that to check if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav
