My images from Lightroom are pixelating when I am laying them out in illustrator

they pixelate horribly. They look perfect however blown up in Photoshop or in Lightroom. The photos themselves are 20mb apiece so it is not the size. When i import them from lightroom into illustrator, i am making a magazine, they become horribly pixelated. I am using a mac and i've tried changing the output of illustrator to RGB but that doesn't help either. Any suggestions. Effect Rasterize is set to 300PPI

Question i have, can we up the resolution output to 300 dpi instead of 240 and if so how? That's all i want to know.

What is the effective resolution in Illustrator?

Exactly where do you want to increase the resolution?

Do the images look good after exporting this to PDF or wherever you want to export it to?

Can you please show us the effective resolution?

Which file format is it? Which options for the format?

Does it look better in View > Overprint preview?

Did you rotate them in Illustrator?

Unlöess there are raster effects applied, the raster effects resolution does not apply.

it is a high resolution jpg at about 7mb saved directly from lightroom. I am using mask in lightroom on each of the photos. I export the raw photos to large jpgs and they look great. However, when i place them on the illustrator page they look terrible. They look worse in View>Overprint preview. I do not rotate them. I shot these at a fashion shoot for CELINE and need to get the digital magazine out. any suggestions?
