My installed fonts are not showing up in Illustrator

So I just installed a new font to my pc. The font is: "Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da". When I try to use this font in Illustrator I can't find it. I've installed several other fonts this way and I can find them all in Illustrator.

I've reinstalled the font, I've restarted both Illustrator and my PC multiple times and it's just not showing up.

Does anyone know a solution?

I have had the same problem and tried all the suggestions here, but nothing worked. So I have used an online converter from ttf to otf and then reinstalled the font. Worked like a charm.

Got the same issue... been using Adobe software since the Photoshop CS2 version... never had a struggle with somethign as pathetic as this... this whole company is turning into a pile of crap. Hope there will be some reasonable alternative to this trash soon.

I've had the same experience with a font called "Bold Scribble Regular" where it works everywhere but in Illustrator. As I manually went through all the fonts listed in the list available on Illustrator, I noted that the font is somehow listed just as "Regular" instead of the full name. Hence, I couldn't find it previously because I didn't know that it was renamed in Illustrator, even though the name shows up perfectly in other Adobe apps. I'd suggest you go through your list of fonts and see if your font hasn't also just been renamed.

I had a similar situation where the font installed did not show up in illustrator, but did in inDesign AND photoshop, I typed something in indesign and copied to illustrator, low and behold the font name was all in chinese or asian characters there! Could it be something similar?

What font format is the font file? TrueType or OpenType? Postscript Type 1 fonts no longer work in Adobe applications. The Windows OS technically doesn't support Type 1 fonts, but you can still install them (for the time being).

Adobe Illustrator can be a little finnicky about loading fonts that were installed in the operating system. Fonts that are poorly authored and have various technical issues may be disregarded by Illustrator. That's something to watch out for when using fonts downloaded from various free fonts web sites. I've even seen odd issues with fonts downloaded from the Google Fonts web site (they do update font files though). If the font's naming has some odd quality to it the font could be in Illustrator's fonts menu, but shuffled up or down to an unexpected location in the fonts list.

Hi!

The font is a .ttf file.

I downloaded the font from a site I've downloaded many more fonts from, I've never had an isue before. The font works in Photoshop tho? Is there a way to make it work on Illustrator that you can think of?

It's odd the font is visible in Photoshop, but not in Illustrator. On the other hand those applications have different development teams and a good bit of different code. It's likely there is something about the font file Illustrator doesn't like. I'd still double check the font menu in Illustrator to make sure the font isn't shuffled up or down to some weird place.

If you downloaded the font from a free fonts web site it might be worthwhile to check other sites carrying the same font. There might be a different build version of it that might work in both Photoshop and Illustrator. Just like any software, fonts can have bugs.

Another option is buying a copy of TransType 4. It can convert fonts from one format to another (such as converting old Type 1 fonts to OpenType format). The app can also repair some technical problems in fonts.

If the normal install does not work, you may try to put the font into a folder named Fonts in the Illustrator Application folder.

Is the Fonts folder an excisting folder in the Illustrator Application Folder? Because I can't seem to find it. I'm on Windows btw.

You could try converting otf to ttf or vice versa and see if that helps.
