my symbol won't map to 3d object in illustrator, default ones okay

I am trying to map a symbol I created onto a 3D object, but it will not appear on any face. Using the default symbols works but for some reason mine does not work

    Check your symbol for invisible paths and single anchor points and delete them.

    If that does not work, please show.
