I’m working on a project in Adobe Illustrator that involves high-density vector artwork, and I’m running into performance slowdowns when editing, scaling, or exporting the file. The artwork includes multiple complex paths, blends, gradient meshes, and a few large pattern fills.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
Using Outline Mode to reduce rendering load
Disabling GPU Performance temporarily to check if the issue was GPU-related
Breaking the artwork into linked files using File > Place
Reducing anchor points with Object > Path > Simplify
Cleaning up stray points and hidden layers
Despite this, the file still becomes sluggish—especially when zooming or applying transformations.
