Need help fixing edges

I have imported an image in to illustrator and then scaled it up so the image is the correct size on the art board but the edges hang off and I can not remove them. Is there any way to fix this??

You can use the Object -> Crop Image tool if I understand correctly what you're trying to achieve.

Alternatively just use a Clipping Mask for non-destructive editing.

It will not allow me to select crop image for some reason.  I apologize brand new to this.

You need to select the image first with the black arrow tool (Selection Tool - V)
