Hey all, I was hoping to get some help with a project I have been stuck on for longer than Id like to admit. I tried gaussian blur to get this effect but it was mediocre at best. Does anyone know how or is willing to help create said image as a vector graphic?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you! I think that helped a lot. What do you think?

That looks nice!

What you can also do is draw a smaller, lighter orange shape, also apply blur to it and overlay. Maybe experiment with blend modes to make it shine a little more.

Can you show how far you've come?

Yes, of course! Here is a screen shot of how far I've come. I've used a round bevel effect with inner and outer glows. I also added a gaussian yellow blur layer above and a more orange blured layer below.

That already looks pretty nice.

What's important about the Gaussian blur is that it blurs to the inside and to the outside of a shape. So you probably need to curve the shape differently in order to get the blur that is thicker in the center.
