Need Help with a script

Hello All, 

I'm looking for a little help. 

I'm looking to create a script that would : 

1. Put the image in RVB

Then 

2. Resize the picture 

But 

The picture need to be resize in 2500px width if it's a horizontal picture, but I need to apply one other size if the picture is in vertical. 

Is that possible for photoshop to detect what type of picture it is ? If yes ? What I'm suppose to write ?
