Need Help with lost files, possible syncing issue?

So I started a file on the Ipad Illustrator app, then using the synced cloud, I opened said file on Illustrator on my computer and worked on it for at least 3 hours, pressing the save button in-between very often to ensure the file was saved. Now, the day after, I went on the Ipad app, and from the home screen I saw that the changes I'd made to the file were visible (Like think I made the lines of what was previously a sketch) but when I went to open the file, everything I'd worked on yesterday was gone! All the layers, everything, gone, except for the changes that were already on the Ipad app. So naturally I also checked Illustrator on my Computer, and now it seems like it's been "synced up" and I've lost all my progress. Please help me, I urgently need those files, but I have no clue where to start to look for them as I'm new to Illustrator.
