need merging and punching shapes

Good evening! I have created a logo, it's beautiful, but very copmplex. It's made of lines, shapes, fonts and what not...I would really like the whole navy blue thing to be merged together in some form of homegenous shape and wherever beige is seen, would be color of the background on which this logo is placed.

Ideally with one click, I would like to be able to chage the color of the navy blue logo to something else. right now, its a nightmare to do so.

Any help oin achieving this would be much appreciated.

Always set (a copy of) the original artwork aside before you start destroying it.

Also perhaps recolour using a Global swatch, so you can change it even more simply in the future.

Select all and use Edit > Edit colors > Recolor artwork

But to combine the thing:

1. outline all strokes

2. outline all text

3. Expand all effects

4. select all and click the pathfinder "Merge" inthe pathfinder panel

5. create an object with no fii, no stroke and Select > Same > fill&stroke

6. delete

7. select a beige object

8. Select > Same > Fill

9. delete
