Need Text Help!

Hello all. I'm not sure how many users here use AutoCAD but I'm trying to replicate or get close to creating attributed text within a design. Basically allowing me to select a group that contains multiple text blocks and let me edit the text in a seperate dialogue. I caught a glimpse of this being done in a random youtube video so I know it's possible. I just can't figure out how to do it within AI.

Hi. That's not possible with native Illustrator tools. Maybe with a third-party plug-in.

Are you sure it wasn't an InDesign video? This can be done via the Story Editor (or Copy Editor) in InDesign, but I'm not aware of a way in Illustrator.

I could have sworn it was ai but it was just a passing couple of frames so I may be wrong. Thanks for the reply!
