Needing help with how to create something specific

I am trying to find out how to make designs with feeding tubes. I was told I would need illustrator to do so, but want to figure out how to do it before I pay for it. I was wanting to see if anybody experienced could help me out.

      Do you want to create the "feeding tubes" from scratch to use as a brush (for example)?

      Or do you want to use an actual feeding tube photo?
