New Bullet list feature in Illustrator. Why it is so short on options?

I really welcome the adding the bulleted and numbered list to Illustrator. I just can't understand why to bring it in such a manner. Almost no options whatsoever... You have a developed list of possibilities in InDesign. Why don't you get it to Illustrator with all these options intact? Some people are familiar with the InDesign way of working with bullets and lists. So why not adding it into Illustrator as is?

WHY?

No coloring options. No choosing a custom glyph. No text placement of the bullet.

Really a shame.
