Question

New Cintiq Pro 24 and painfully slow Illustrator

I just received a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 and Illustrator is near unusable with it. Every single operation causes lag or not responding and the occassional crash, even just moving a tool window. Turning off the Cintiq and running AI in my primary monitor works fine and I've installed all the newest drivers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AI 26.5
Dell Precision 7560
Windows 10 64-bit
64 gb RAM
NVIDIA RTX A3000

That is really strange.

Did you check to see if there were any new updates for your operating system and computer components?

They should run about the same speed. Never seen one go slower than the other.

I tested Photoshop and that seems to work just fine as well

Hello nrober,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you try resetting Illustrator's preferences by following the steps shared in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html) and sharing your observations.

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with the defaults. You may take a backup of these settings from the location mentioned in the article.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,
Anubhav

Thank you Anubhav. I forgot to mention that I had tried that also. I have also ensured that "Enable Wacom" is checked.
