New fonts not showing in Illustrator until restart (version 29.8.2)

When I install a new font while the program is open, it doesn’t appear in the font list. I have to close Illustrator and reopen it for the new font to show up.

This is a very frustrating issue that appeared with the latest update.

Hi @Stefania3507611794tu,

 

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with fonts not appearing in Illustrator. Could you please confirm your operating system and whether this started right after updating to version 29.8.2? Try signing out of Creative Cloud, restarting your system, and signing back in to see if the newly installed fonts show up without restarting Illustrator.

If the issue persists, please try resetting the font cache and test again. You can follow the steps here: Troubleshoot Fonts in Illustrator.

Hi Abhishek, thank you for your quick answer. My OS is Windows 11 (v. 25H2). I'm having this issue for a couple of months. Anyway, I did what you suggested first and IT WORKED!! Thank you so much!!

Unfortunately, the problem returned after a short time. So logging out and back in isn't a permanent solution.
