New macos tahoe crashed my illustator file

I've recently updated my software to the new macOS (Tahoe). Before that, I saved all of my files, including my portfolio. On the next day I opened my portfolio file, and all of the pictures were gone. They are, and they were embedded, but the picture fields are empty. I don't have all of those pictures anymore, so I can't update them. (I don't even remember half of the placement and what it was).

I've tried reinstalling Illustrator through the desktop app and web and clearing my preferences and media cache. I don't have any recovery files. I've tried running the same file on a different computer with older macOS, and it's not working either. Other files work normally. I rechecked the save date and time, and it's from before the update.

If you have any clue what to do, please help me because I really don't want to redo my portfolio that I've been working on for the past 3 months.

Do the images still show when you open the file in Acrobat?

Before trying that I would duplicate the file.
