Your question should go to the Illustrator forums since these are the "Illustrator Scripting" ones. There you could get more help than here.

Anyway if you`re looking to get graphics from the web and play with them, the basic steps would be:

- download them from wherever you find them;

- un-archieve them(with winzip or winrar) to some folder that you commonly use(My Documents, My Pictures, or an own created folder);

- depending on the files' type you can or you cannot edit them( Illustrator editable: .ai, .eps, .pdf; Photoshop editable: .psd, .jpg, .bmp, .tif and mainly any other graphics; for .cdr you'll need Corel though);

- if you get an illustrator editable file, grab a tutorial and learn about tools and stuff; you`re on your own from there; practicing yourself will bring you the skills to be an average/advanced user.

If you have any other questions regarding Illustrator usage of tools and such post to Illustrator forums.

Thank You for your reply

Sorry about posting in the wrong section.

so files like EPS i would have to crate a file to put them in and open them if I want to use them.

but what about graffic styles and textures? where do I install them to?

In the right corner of each panel you have a tiny arrow with 3 horizontal lines on its right. Click that arrow and you`'ll find Open Graphic Style Library and Other Library in the next menu. Click on that and select your graphic style library ... the same should be with 'textures' though i have no idea what those would be ...

*later edit* and you dun have to be sorry ... none of us was born with knowledge. I was only pointing the fact that there you probably should get better support from community as there are more people to help you with starting on the misty road of Illustrator .
