Question

No fonts found in illustrator. I cannot use any fonts I can’t access any fonts at all

I am using the most recent adobe illustrator just installed the most recent update today, on a MacBook that is up to date. I have been having this font issue for sometime now.

When i go into illustrator and create a new text box, then go in the properties panel to the drop down menu for the font it is blank. I can type anything into the text box but if I want to change the font there are no fonts found in the drop down menu. Y

it just says no results found. I do not have any filters checked for specific kind of fonts (i.e. serif, sans serif, script, etc.) I have made sure that all those are unchecked. There are just no fonts anywhere to be found.

If I open an old project that already has fonts in it I do not get the warning that fonts are missing. So it’s as if all the fonts are there but I just can’t see them or find them to use them. What is going on?

Do you have font management installed?

Are all your fonts checked and OK?

Probably you are not using it if you don't know anything about it. But please check: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Font_management_software
