Have you tried clicking on the following from the top menu: 'object' > 'shape' > 'convert to shape'? The shape properties should then appear. 🙂

How do you transform the circle?

With the Transform Panel?

what exactly do you do when the Shape properties disappear?

I wanted to transform it with the transform panel, but some options do not appear. And the shape option does not appear also. With the rectangle all options seem to appear.

Can you post a screenshot, and a sample of a circle giving you trouble using dropbox or similar.

Hard question, why does the transformation panel say "no shape properties" when I select a path?

I noticed this happening with shapes that I transformed the corners of [individually] *before* having the transform window open. It seems like a glitch.
