Not getting "overwrite notification" when exporting files

This only started happening recently and I'm not sure what to do to fix it.  Whenever I export a file using the "Export as..." feature, I'll navigate to the location where it was previously exported and click the "Export" button.  I used to get an overwrite notification asking if I wished to do so and I'd just click yes or no.  Now, for some reason, that notification isn't triggering and Adobe Illustrator is just overwriting.  I tried using Windows Explorer to copy and paste a file to the same location, and Windows "does" give the standard notification to confirm overwrite.  It's only when I'm using Illustrator, that it's skipping that step.

A co-worker of mine is using the same version of AI and doesn't have this problem so I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere that I inadvertently turned on that's causing it to act this way.

Please help.

*edit* - I've determined that this only happens when I have "Use Artboards" checked off in the export dialog box.  If that is unchecked, the notification appears.

I'm on PC

Microsoft Windows 11 Professional Version 24H2

Illustrator version 29.8.2 (64 bit)

Just found this because I was looking into the same issue. It overwrites the file without checking with me first.

What I have noticed is that it DOES give me the verification dialog when it is SVG. It does not when it is PNG.

Hello @CmdrTomalak6330,

Thanks for reaching out. I tried replicating this behavior on my end, but could not. Could you share a small screen recording of your exact workflow and the problem, so I can try and replicate this on my end?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Anubhav

My employer won't allow screen recording.

Perhaps it's the format being exported is the problem.

Here, I tried 100 pt x 100 pt artboard.  Export as TIF to desktop with settings outlined below.  Repeat.  No notification.

I have just tested with the same settings and can't replicate the problem. COuld there be a change on your employer's network settings?
