"Object on Path" does not work (greyed out)

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble using the "Object on path" options in Illustrator. In addition to what our expert has asked, would you mind checking the same on a new file or a new object in this file? We would want to ensure whether this issue is occurring with all files or just this specific file and with this specific object.

Could you please confirm if you have Illustrator. i.e, 30.1 installed on your machine?
