Object stuck with transparency after Minus Front

Hi - I'm stuck on something in Illustrator.

I have a shape that had a 20% transparency with I did a Minus Front action on in the Pathfinder - the resulting object is still transparent but says its at 100%. Why does illustrator do this?

Without having access to your file or any screenshots would agree with 2 previous  posts as to what most likely has happened.

    DoubleClick on contents

and you may then see the 20% you are looking for

Inspect each of the resulting objects by selecting with direct selection tool ,then use the layers panel and the appearance panel. Transparency can also be applied to just the fill of an object.

Is the shape grouped and maybe you're selecting the group and not the resulting path? I made 2 shapes with different transparencies, overlapped them, and applied Pathfinder's Minus Front, but the resulting shape has the transparency and shows the correct percentage.
