Objects and photos are no longer visible while being moved

There's a major bug in Illustrator 27.7 that needs fixing please Adobe.

NB This issue occurs when working with documents and templates created in previous (even very recent) versions of Illustrator. It seems not to affect docs created freshly in 27.7

When one moves and object or photo with the selection tool, the item disappeares, leaving you to roughly guess where it will end up. All accuracy regarding placing an item has gone out the window! Oddly, if you press the shift key, you CAN see the item while it's moving, but obviously only with the 90/180/45 degree constraint. This shows this issue must be a bug or error.

Thanks, Ian

If you have tried all of that and this is still happening, then it might be related to the hardware and/or system and maybe it's time for a bug report: https://illustrator.uservoice.com

What System are you on?

Hello Brad,

Thanks for your response. I'm on Mac OS Ventura 13.4.1 on a new Apple M2 Max.

If I switch to pixel view and revert back, the issue resolves but.. any hidden or locked layers (such as spot areas) overlay on the artwork.

I'm on Mac, although at Monterey and I cannot reproduce the issue. So as Monika suggests it might be a bug issue with your hardware combo.

I can't reproduce that. Did you already reboot the computer, reset the preferences, turn on GPU preview, activated Realtime preview in the preferences?

Hello Monika,

Thanks for your suggestions. Yep, I've tried all those things. The odd thing is, that this is happening to my colleagues as well - and we're all looking for a fix. The strangest thing is that if I select pixel preview then revert back to standard view the issue resolves, but the hidden spot layers show up, which I don't require.

Cheers
