Offset path issue

Hello.

Every time I apply a path offset, the inital path dissapears.

I dont know what is going on, as this has never happeded to me before.

It is very frustrating - I have attached a video to show what I mean.

Please help!

You are using the Offset Path effect in the Effect menu.

What you want to use instead is Object menu > Path > Offset Path

Thank you so much! I didn't realise there was mor ethan 1 offset path.
