Offset path issue

Ihave a problem when ido offset path with text icant see the anchor point of the path icant edit this path at all and cant seprate it from the text

Are you talking about live type objects or outlined type objects?

Moreover, are you using the Offset Path command in the Effect menu or the one in the Object menu?

Yeah the object menu and the path doesnt show any anchor points
