Old Arabic fonts show wrong characters on newer versions of illustrator

Some Arabic fonts seem to show wrong characters, I tried the same font on the latest version of illustrator (2024 v28), on an older version (2021) and on microsoft word.

I have the same type settings on both versions of illustrator.

I also tried it in photoshop and got the same result.

I have tried the same font you are using (Mokhtar) and it shows the same problem, I believe it's font compatibility issue.

but to work this around, write in MS word and save to PDF then import pdf to illustrator as outlines and take things from there. Hope this helps.
