Open Illustrator files in Mac Preview

Hmmm, it is worse... Previously noted that Preview no longer opens Illustrator files (latest version of OS and AI) properly -- elements are mis-represented. But it is worse -- It is something to do with either Apple or Adobe now messing up the pdf as placing an Illustrator file in KeyNote, which always worked perfectly previously, also does not have fidelity -- elements are messed up. This is disasterous as I have talks to prepare in KeyNote and suddenly have no way to get my AI files in properly without doing something annoying like making a png (bitmap) -- it was always great that Apple Software always dealt properly and seamlessly with Illustrator files but, suddently, this is no longer so. Hopefully it will be fixe quickly!

Apple Preview con not be trusted with anything.

If the PDF is OK in Acrobat, then the problem is with the other apps.

Maybe tell Apple.

Apart from that: You can open AI files in Preview or Keynote provided that they have been saved with "PDF compatiblity". This embeds a PDF into the AI files, which the other apps then access. Maybe you get better results when you save a copy of your AI files as a PDF. Then try out which options work best.
